A new research suggests that smoking leads to increase in the formation of bacteria in the mouth so much so that they fight against your immune system and make you vulnerable to oral diseases. This bacteria can form biofilms on surfaces of teeth, valves of the heart and respiratory tract. Dental plaque is the most prevalent biofilms which lead to gingivitis and other severe oral diseases.
It might come as a surprise to a lot of us but it turns out that all those supermodels who were addicted to smoking were actually onto something. A research has found that self-administration of nicotine is able to suppress body weight gain irrespective of your diet. Results of the study reveal that if the nicotine dose was reduced from a high self-administered dose to a significantly low dose, it would lead to substantial weight gain.
White tea leaves, if consumed in chewable form has found to be lessening the effects of nicotine among smokers. In India, it is similar to people chewing 'paan masala' for refreshment. These leaves are plucked by hand and dried in the sun before exporting for consumption. They are rich in antioxidants and offer greater health benefits than green tea. These leaves are not made from leaves but from the buds of tea. They are also comparatively expensive in the tea industry.
