Escherichia coli (E. coli) is a bacteria that is important for our intestinal tract health. Most are harmless bacteria. However, the E.coli that makes headlines are pathogenic that causes illness. The Shiga toxin generating E. coli is usually seen in restaurants that can cause diseases such as bloody diarrhea is transferred through water, food or personal contact with the infected. Symptoms include diarrhea, loss of appetite, vomiting, kidney problems, respiratory issues, slight fever and many more are experienced within the first four days of infection and usually recover within a week.
