Memory of a heart attack gets stored in genes

A study has found that the memory of CVD such as a heart attack is stored in the genes through epigenetic changes which are chemical modifications of DNA responsible for turning our genes on/off. Our body gives signals by activating certain genes during a heart attack. This mechanism eventually restores the body back to normal after a heart attack. Thus, it is likely that epigenetic changes are associated with a heart attack.
