Scientists, apparently have found an alternative to painkiller Morphine which is equally effective and with lesser side-effects. It is not even addictive. Morphine is derived from the opium poppy which acts on the receptor in the brain that reduces pain but it is also known to affect a different receptor that leads to breathing problems in case of overdose. The drug is yet tested on mice but it is believed that it could be an answer to the problem that dates back decades ago - how to reduce pain without side effects?
