It is believed that drug-resistant infections are increasing due to excessive use of medicines such as antibiotics and anti fungus for treating not-so-harmful conditions like common cold. If this continues and no immediate action is taken, it will kill about 10 million people per annum by 2050. With such an excessive use, the immune systems of the human body build up resistance due to which the conditions become incurable.
