There is a short video on YouTube which clearly explains the difference between hard water and soft water based on their mineral content. In the video, it has been stated that concentration of minerals such as magnesium, calcium is higher than normal in “hard” water. Furthermore, it states that insoluble compounds are formed when soap reacts with the minerals in the hard water and a lather is formed when studied with soft water.
