A new way has been discovered by the scientists for measuring the level of awareness in a person who has suffered a brain injury and estimate whether the person will regain consciousness within a year or not. This is possible because the amount of sugar (glucose) consumed by the brain can be used to predict the current level awareness of a person. These measures can be obtained easily and can be used to predict the likelihood of state of consciousness within a year.

A recent research by neurologists from AIIMS has suggested that epilepsy can be treated better with home videos as compared with caregivers. The research was carried out in treating more than 300 epilepsy patients and promising results were achieved. According to experts, about 10 million people in India are suffering from epilepsy and many do not receive the proper treatment. According to the Maharashtra Forest Minister Sudhir Mungantiwar, the state is all set to plant 2 crore saplings across the state on 1st of July. Only twenty percent of the state land is covered by forest which is majorly affecting the adverse environment.
