For over 2000 years, a type of grass called sweet wormwood has been used in traditional Chinese medicine effectively. Researchers have now discovered that this grass contains a particular compound called artemisinin which, when compared to traditional chemotherapy drugs, is 1200 times more efficient in killing malignant cells. This compound is already used in the treatment of several insect-borne diseases such as malaria.

According to the Maharashtra Forest Minister Sudhir Mungantiwar, the state is all set to plant 2 crore saplings across the state on 1st of July. Only twenty percent of the state land is covered by forest which is majorly affecting the adverse environment. The BMC has revealed that 92% of all the Ice samples across the city tested positive for a dreaded E.coli bacteria just prior to the monsoon.
