FSSAI (Food Safety and Standards Authority of India) has amended its regulations for fixing loopholes in the definition of proprietary food, were under the definition several nutraceutical and health supplements have been approved. As per the revised regulation Neutraceuticals and dietary and health supplements such as fortified foods and energy drinks will no longer be considered as proprietary food by FSSAI.

These quick service outlets will be competing with fast food companies such as McDonalds and KFC. They intend to give their customers healthier and quick snacking alternatives.
